What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.): There were two major versions of the 1824 Capped Bust Dime. Both of them actually have the date 1824 stamped on top of the 1822 date or an overdate error. The difference between the two varieties is in regards to the words "10 C." (10 cents) on the bottom of the reverse of the coin. One variety will have a flat-topped styled "1" while the other will have a pointed-topped styled "1". The "Pointed Top 1" variety is considerably rarer and more valuable.
