The 1887/6 overdate error is one of the major varieties of the 1887 Nickel Three Cent Piece. This coin features an 1887 date stamped over a 1886 date. Part of the underlying "6" is still visible under the "7". Some strikes are strong and easy to identify such as the one depicted above. Although some strikes are much weaker and much harder to identify.
