There were two major varieties of the 1837 Seated Liberty Silver Dime - Type 1 with no stars. The big difference between the two is related to the size of the 1837 date. One had a date with larger numbers and the other had smaller numbers. The comparisons and differences can be seen in the example image of the coin for the 1837 Small Date vs Large Date variety.
