The coin was lost in the snow storm for a while but arrived today. It is what was pictured. Thank you for a wonderful coin. It will be one of the center pieces in my 1898 Barber series.

I just received the 1898 S Quarter that was represented as Fine in quality. I have examined the coin under my LCD Ditigtal Microscope (2mega Pixel magnification) and find the obverse of the coin is at best a G4. The reverse is better but a coin's value is usually established by the obverse side. The Greysheet site establishes a retail value of a G4 at around $19. It also states the retail value of a F12 at around $54. I used the American Numismati Association Grading Standards Sixth Edition as my grading criteria. Looking at the obverse, the letters of "Liberty" were not present. An F12 would have all letters visible but weak. It is clear I over paid by $25 for this coin. It is my error in judgement. I will not probably make it again but not with this seller.

The coin arrived today that is one day early. Maybe there is hope for the USPS.
I want to thank you again for honoring your word on the sale of this coin. You did not have to do it. The coin is wonderful with great detail. I plan on sending it to ANACS for grading. They provide a grade to coins that are damaged or cleaned. I want to see how it grades compared to what I believe. PCGS does not have such a service. Any coin with damage or cleaned is not provided a grade.

A good looking coin but I graded it F12 using CoinHelp as a guide. The grade is a matter of individual opinion but does have an affect on the price paid. It appeared worse at home than what I saw on line. But the rest of the order was super so this coin gets a pass. It is a positive addition to my collection. Thanks
