The 1841 Liberty Head $2.50 Quarter Eagle is extremely rare and valuable. The US Mint never officially recorded producing these gold coins - yet they do exist. Most numismatists and coin experts believe this coin was produced as a proof-only type coin and was only intended to be used in presentation sets.
