The Medium Letters variety features more spacing between the words "STATES" and "OF" - more spacing than any of the large letter varieties. In addition: The medium letters variety features much smaller letter A's in the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" with more spacing between the letters surrounding them. There were actually 11 major "Large Letters" sub-varieties and only 1 "Medium Letters" variety (known as Newcomb-6 or N-6).
