What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.):
1875-S/CC Trade Silver Dollar - S Over CC Mintmark
One major variety is the 1875-S/CC Trade Silver Dollar. This variety features a San Francisco "S" mintmark struck over a Carson City "CC" mintmark. This coin can be identified by noticing a very subtle "CC" displayed around the "S" mint mark. The most prominent portion is the second letter "C" that shows up on the right side of the "S". A very small piece of the first letter "C" is sometimes seen on the left side of the "S". These features are depicted by the arrows in the example image above.
