What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.): There were two major varieties of the 1804 Turban Head Gold Quarter Eagle. One variety features only 13 stars above the eagle on the reverse of the coin (as depicted above). This coin is exceptionally rare and valuable compared to the 14 star variety.
