What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.):There were two major varieties of the 1850 Liberty Head $10 Gold Eagle. This variety depicted above features a Small Date with noticeably smaller numbers in the 1850 date - while the other variety features larger numbers. The small date variety is slightly rarer and more valuable. The difference between the Large Date vs Small Date is depicted below in the example comparison image.
