1823/2 Capped Bust Quarter - 3 Over 2 Overdate Error
The 1823/2 Capped Bust Quarter only had one major variety which also happened to be an overdate error. All quarters of this year had an 1823 date struck over an 1822 date - there were no normal non-error variety. The underlying "2" is clearly seen under the "3" as depicted in the example image above. This is an extremely rare and valuable year. Source of example image is courtesy of Heritage Auction Galleries.
