What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.): The 1798 Small Eagle $5 Gold Turban Head Half Eagle is exceptionally rare and valuable - it is much rarer than the "Heraldic Large Eagle" variety. Only 7 of these coins are known to exist: 2 of these are housed at the Smithsonian Institute's National Numismatic Collection and 1 at the Harry Bass Research Foundation and the rest are in private collection with some not seen since the 1940's.
